How mastery works. The lower the tier, the further it climbs: C and C+ take five levels to +20, B and B+ four to +16, A and A+ three to +11, S and S+ two to +8. Every step costs 65% of what that rating is worth on the market — so a Bronze level starts at 110 coins while the single Diamond step runs 67,280 — and building is always cheaper than buying the same rating outright. A maxed C+ reaches 66, past a base Gold player. The last level of every band consumes a duplicate of the exact same card. Reaching level 3 makes a card permanently tradeable, which Diamond never does — it stops at two. Past the band max, Breakout keeps climbing — +2 a step at 130% of the gap, dearer than buying, and each step consumes a sparring partner of the tier he is climbing into: a B into the 60s, an A into the 70s, an S into the 80s, an S+ into the 90s. No card plays above 99 — a Diamond printed at 97 buys two points and stops, and one already at 99 is refused rather than charged.
